A non-profit operational watchdog called the Environmental Working Group looks at data supplied by the US Department of Agriculture and the Food and Drug Administration, and checks pesticide residues found in produce. The list is updated annually, and you can visit it at: https://www.ewg.org/foodnews/summary.php.
Both organisations supply a list of 12 fruits and vegetables that have been exposed to high doses of pesticides and contain high residues of poisons which are known to seriously damage health. These are known as "The Dirty Dozen." Also featured is a list of fruits and vegetables which are known to be relatively low in environmental toxins. These are "The Clean Fifteen." They are listed below so you can opt for the safer "clean" or go organic if you need to buy any of the "dozen."
