You have an extraordinarily rare constitution – Kapha only, occurring in approximately 1 in 2,000 people. Your entire physiology embodies the qualities of earth and water with virtually no influence from Pitta’s fire or Vata’s air.

Your Characteristics: You likely have a larger, solid frame with smooth, cool, well-lubricated skin. You gain weight easily and lose it with difficulty. Your movements are deliberate and graceful, your speech measured and melodious. You possess exceptional stamina, calm temperament, excellent long-term memory, and natural compassion. You sleep deeply and may find it hard to wake. Your digestion is slow but steady.

Your Primary Challenge: Without the lightness of Vata or the metabolic fire of Pitta, you’re extremely prone to accumulation – of weight, congestion, attachment, and stagnation. Heavy foods, sedentary lifestyle, excessive sleep, and lack of stimulation quickly create imbalance.

Your Balancing Strategy: You need consistent lightness, warmth, and stimulation more than any other type. The Kapha Spice Mix should be your daily companion. Favour light, dry, warm foods with pungent, bitter, and astringent tastes. Regular vigorous exercise is non-negotiable for your constitution.

Essential Practices:

  • Light, warm, dry foods – minimise heavy, oily preparations
  • Vigorous daily exercise (you have the stamina for intensity)
  • Wake early (before 6 AM) – do not oversleep
  • Minimise dairy, wheat, sugar, and heavy meats

Foods to Emphasise: Light grains (barley, quinoa, millet), legumes (except kidney beans), vegetables (especially leafy greens, bitter vegetables), apples, pears, pomegranate, heating spices, small amounts of honey

Foods to Avoid: Dairy (especially cheese, yogurt, ice cream), wheat, oats, rice, sweet fruits (bananas, dates, figs), nuts, excessive oils, heavy meats and cold drinks

Note for you: That pure Vata with cold hands/feet in July is textbook! I bet they also had difficulty maintaining regular routines and fluctuating energy. These pure types really demonstrate how powerfully one dosha can dominate when there’s minimal balancing influence from the others.
